Virginia Foreclosures Soars

The number of Virginia foreclosures increased by 138 percent from 2006. From January to March, there were 2,474 homes in some stage of foreclosure, placing the state at the 39th place among the states with the highest foreclosure homes rate. Vermont Foreclosures Rate Falls by 81%

As many states struggle with uncharacteristically high foreclosures rate, Vermont enjoyed an 81 percent decrease from 2006. During the first quarter of this year, the state recorded 4 homes in some stage of foreclosure, placing Vermont at the 50th position in the list of states with the highest foreclosures rate. With very few Vermont foreclosed homes and the state’s thriving economy, buyers are trying to grab any foreclosed property that comes in the market.

Foreclosures Rate in Utah Decreases by 33%

For the first quarter of 2007, Utah experienced a considerable 32.40 percent decrease in foreclosures rate compared to 2006. From January to March, the state recorded 2,406 homes in some stage of foreclosure and with a rate of 1 foreclosure for every 319 homes. The current data places Utah at the 14th spot among the states with the highest foreclosures rate. The decrease in foreclosures activity signals buyers that the time is just about right to invest in Utah foreclosures.

Tennessee: Showing Foreclosure Slow Down

Compared to 2006, Tennessee foreclosures rate has decreased by almost 8 percent. Although it is not much, real estate experts are hoping that this could be a sign that the foreclosures activity is slowing down. For the first quarter of 2007, Tennessee has the a13th highest foreclosures rate in the nation, with 10,878 homes entering some stage of foreclosure.

Grabbing South Dakota Foreclosures

Being one of the states with the lowest foreclosures rate in the United States, real estate investors and buyers would certainly try to grab these South Dakota foreclosures. For the first three months of 2006, the state recorded 75 households in some stage of foreclosure. South Carolina Enjoys Low Foreclosures Rate

As of the first quarter of 2007, the number of South Carolina foreclosed homes is till way below the nation’s average. A total of 1,091 households entered some stage of foreclosure for the first three months of this year. Based on this, South Carolina is ranked at the 41st place among states with highest foreclosures rate with 1 foreclosure for every 1,606 homes.

Pennsylvania Foreclosures Slowing Down

Unlike most states that are struggling with high foreclosures rate, Pennsylvania seems to be experiencing a slowing down in foreclosures activity. After only one year, the state’s foreclosures rate has decreased by almost 30 percent. For local residents, this could be a good sign that the worst is almost over. With a total of 8, 463 homes in some stage of foreclosure, Pennsylvania comes in as the 25th state with the highest foreclosures rate. Since the trend seems to be reversing, buyers should really consider Pennsylvania foreclosures for investment.

Foreclosures in Oregon Increase Slightly

Compared to 2006, the number of Oregon foreclosures has increased by a slight 8.30 percent. The state recorded 2,193 homes in some stage of foreclosure for the first three months of the current year. The slight increase would certainly pose no negative effects on the state’s housing prices, relieving the homeowners from worries.

Oklahoma Foreclosures Rate Goes Down

Compared to 2006, the number of Oklahoma homes in some stage of foreclosure has decreased by 14.77 percent. Despite this good news, the first three months of this year still recorded a total of 4,029 foreclosure filings. This places the state at the 19th highest foreclosures rate position with 1 out of 371 homeowners defaulting on their mortgages.
